Corroboree Park Challenge
Since it's inception in 1993, The Palmerston Game Fishing Club’s Humminbird Corroboree Park Challenge has risen in popularity and esteem.
Now attracting an average of up to 150 anglers every year, it has become one of the premier Barramundi competitions in the Northern Territory.
This competition has a generic Family appeal and we often attract many families to this event. A simple search on Google for the Corroboree Park Challenge reveals a large amount of hits in areas such as Tourism, Fishing and Northern Territory Events.
The competition is run over a weekend between August and September. We endeavor to make it coincide with both the moon and with some warmer conditions, which typically see the Barramundi more active.
Up until 2006 this competition was a Kill Comp which means you decide which fish will be your winning fish and you are required to gut, gill and prepare the fish prior to weigh in. However in 2007 the competition was brought in line with our no kill policy and converted into a Photo comp with the competitors being required to take photographic proof against a recognised measuring device of their catch.
